At the End of the Goal
When the team's work is done, it is most important to find out if the team met its goal.
- Did the team reach its goal? If not, why not? What would have made a difference?
- Did the team's work have the results that team members hoped for? If not, why not? What would have made a difference in the result?
Sometimes, the goal is only to make things better for team members, like working together to get an individual the supports needed to have a good life. But if the goal of the project was to make things better for people outside the team, it is important to ask those people how the results affected them, too.
At the last team meeting, you may also want to ask team members about how well they feel they worked together. You can tell that you worked well together if people do not want the project to end.
The last meeting is a good time to get people to think about what went well and what did not go well. Ask team members these questions:
- What would you tell others who want to do a project like ours?
- What did we do on our team that made a difference?
- What would you do differently another time?
